Miami Grand Prix Thoughts & Reactions
Welcome back Fangirls & boys!
It’s been a while since we last talked & that’s mainly due to life getting beyond chaotic just as F1 went on a hiatus. It’s almost as if the Formula One gods knew that I couldn’t handle so many life changes happening AND blog as well. So, I made the decision to not blog during the break. I didn’t want to put something out just for the sake of not missing a week. If I blog, I want it to be something I enjoyed writing. But, now, as the dust settles & F1 begins again, I am back.
There has been so many things happening in the world of F1 and sports in general since we last spoke. The top story was obviously the 2 canceled races in the month of April. We went almost an entire month with no cars on track & this weekend felt like another season opener.
I have many mixed feelings on the Miami Grand Prix. 90% of which lean in the negative. I have personally dubbed it the marketing grand prix. It is as if every sponsor in the sport has decided they all some sort of integrated promo or presence at the track this weekend. God forbid someone mixes it up and shows up at one of the other 21 races we have on the calendar. It all gets lost in the shuffle of the weekend. Over the 4 days they are in Miami, the teams pimp out their drivers & I find that the racing seems to be put on the back burner. They call Coachella the influencer convention but its starting to seem like the U.S. Grand Prixs are close behind. Maybe its just me but I am very turned off from the influencer invitations to everything. It’s doing the opposite. It’s deinfluencing me from wanting to watch the event. This race weekend was built solely for marketing & social departments across the globe to be able to hit their engagement numbers. Sadly, it’s unavoidable & this year I tried to mute as any official accounts as possible & only tune in when there were cars on the track.

I know we have so much to catch up on so I thought we would take this first blog back nice & easy. I need to get back into my flow. There is so much I have been fangirling over and there will be an entire post on everything later this week.
