Falling in Love in July
July was a month that came & went so quickly. Between work & life itself, the month went by in a blink but I did enjoy a lot of it with people I love. I ended the month with a week in Montana for vacation which will be a blog later this week.
With all of this chaos and life happening - I fell in love with so much this month & I simply have to tell you all about it.
Sorry for the short intro but I am still tired from a day full of traveling yesterday & I don’t want to bore you too much with frills.

Food & Drink
Poppi Shirley Temple
Jimmy Johns Buffalo Chicken Wrap
Watermelon
There are very few drinks that I find stand the test of time. Shirley Temple is one of them. It is one of my favorite drinks to have when I go out for a drink or even at dinner. It is just perfect - with or without alcohol. I love it as both. Especially in the summer. I found that Poppi has one of the best canned (& healthier option) Shirley temples on the market. It is definitely the best go to drink of the summer when you are wanting something sweet but don’t want a regular pop. This is 100% Kat approved.
Another craving I had this month was Jimmy Johns Buffalo Chicken Wrap. We can blame Abby & David for this because they got me one when I helped them move earlier this month. After that, I was hooked. I love anything with Buffalo Chicken, it’s one of my go to’s but this is a great option from a chain. It is so refreshing & delicious. Another Summer specific thing for me. I find I crave things more seasonally & this is one of those things.
There is nothing more summer to me than watermelon. There are benefits with living with my grandparents & one of them is that each summer my grandfather goes on a quest to find the best tasting watermelon. It is such a hard task to be the taste tester for such an endeavor. There is nothing I find more refreshing than watermelon in the summer. In July, there is no fruit I consumed more & I have 0 regrets.
Television & Movies
Big Bang Theory
The Odyssey
I love nothing more than a bingeable tv show. This month I finally started Big Bang Theory & I have been flying through it. It is one of those shows that is funny even when you aren’t exactly paying the most attention to it. The storylines are great & I love that there are so many seasons. My issue with streaming services is that they cancel so many shows with amazing potential after 1 or 2 seasons but networks never do me dirty. This will enter into my rotation of background shows for when I am working on something or between tv shows.
Now, the movie I have been waiting YEARS for finally came out this month. The Odyssey is one of my favorite pieces of literature in the world. I have a tattoo in honor of how it’s written. In Medias Res. Nerdy I know but guys. I have a BLOG you had to expect something along these lines. Anyway, it was one of the best movies of the year so far. The acting, the cinematography, the SCORE. Everything about it was so what I wanted it to be & I loved it so much. Even so, many people are going to pretend that the reason it’s doing so well is because Rick Riordan had an entire generation so invested in Greek mythology. Anyway, I digress. Everyone go see Odyssey.
Music
Joy by Role Model
Champagne Supernova by Oasis
Great Expectation by SIENNA SPIRO
Petal by Ariana Grande
There is no definitive proof that Role Model reads the blog but after last months I’m in Love blog, he released another single. I love the song Joy so much & I am so beyond excited for the album to come out this week.
If you are my family or have driven in the car with me at all the last few months this addition makes so much sense. I have been addicted to listening to Champagne Supernova. I love this song so much & it has become one of my most favorite songs. I have declared so many songs on this blog as songs of the summer but this one has definitely been one of my most played. I don’t even know how this love affair started but it doesn’t even matter. I love it anyway.
Now, SIENNA SPIRO is someone who has had a lot of songs come across my desk & this month her album came out. It is all around a fantastic album but there is one song that has been stuck in my brain and wormed it’s way in there forever probably. Great Expectation is one of those songs that make you want to scream in the car & cry & break something all at the same time. It’s one of the most beautiful songs I have heard in a long time & I love it so much.
One of my most favorite artists across every age I have been since I have been able to choose my music choices is Ariana Grande. She has come out with a new album in the knick of time to be included in the July blog. Petal is such a powerful & confident album with such nuance and I love it. Through my first few listens my favorite songs are: freak, bad thing (bunny hop), & nowhere, nobody.
Misc.
My job
The Internet
Guys. Me saying this feels like a beautiful step in the right direction of life considering how deeply I disliked my last job. But, I love my current job. It makes me so happy & I love going to work everyday. It is magical.
The internet to me is such a funny thing. This month I made such a throw away comment on Twitter quote tweeting something & it went viral for about 24 hours. It was something that made me laugh & quickly became the most viewed thing I have ever written & probably ever will write unless I can find the courage to finish writing my book. Anyway, the internet was something that I loved this month because of how silly it is.
