Casuals Questions
It’s been awhile since I have opened the phone lines (question box on my instagram story) for you lovely people to ask me questions. Today felt like as good a day as ever for you to have all your inquiries answered. There was such an amazing variety that I am actually really glad I didn’t have to force that many people to submit. I LOVE FAN INTERACTION! Adding that to my loves for September.
I know y’all are oh so curious to see the answers to your questions so let’s dig in.

“How are we feeling about Deshaun Watson”
Now. Here’s the thing. I thought about doing an entire blog post dedicated to this very topic. I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about the Browns and their decision to back this man. But my feelings about him? Scum of the earth who deserves nothing. His personal conduct is absolutely deplorable. The day the Browns decided to give him $250 million in a guaranteed contract was the day I stopped being a fan of this organization.
The NFL over the last few years saw such a sharp increase in female viewership and are making insane strides to try to make the sport a welcoming space to female viewers and employees. Yet, they continually do absolutely nothing in terms of taking a hard stance on the off field conduct of players in terms of domestic abuse and sexual assault allegations. There are so many active players that have court cases out for these exact reasons. It is making it increasingly difficult to pick players and teams to follow. Which brings me to the Browns organization.
The Haslem family choosing to pay a man who was dropped by the Texans due to the sexual assault allegations a guaranteed 9 figures AND try to make him the face of the organization? They will go down in sports history as the most spineless, horrible team owners. They threw out any type of respect anyone had for them the moment they did this.
But to me, the worst part of this whole thing is that he is actually one of the worst quarterbacks I have ever seen. He can not be helping them in terms of revenue and all the benefits that come with a successful on field product.
I will never root for the Browns while he is the quarterback and I hope he has a career ending injury soon. (I don’t normally root for injury but sometimes you have to make an exception)
“Who is winning the Super Bowl”
The Buffalo Bills are looking like the team to beat right now. Everything seems like it is clicking for them right now so if I were a betting woman, this would be who I placed a future on.
“Dancing with the Stars thoughts”
Amazing question. I have so many. The 2 night premiere was everything I needed it to be and MORE. I think the pairings are actually perfect. My personal favorites are Connor and Rylee & Ezra and Daniella. Honorable mention is Amber and Pasha. I just think there is so much potential to see so many of these celebs actually grow as dancers this season which is such an amazing switch up from what I think we saw last season. Right now I am not sure there is any clear winner which in the long run is going to be so fantastic for the show because it really is going to be such a week to week energy in terms of who could possibly go home.
“Thoughts on live action remakes”
Don’t need them. Stop doing them. I am a stan of animation when it comes to movies and tv shows. 99% of the time I am choosing an animated show or movie anyway but when it comes to remaking an animated show as a live action? That’s where you lose me. I find them unnecessary & also a money grab instead of cultivating new ideas and trying out new stories that are out there. TAKE A CHANCE! TRY SOMETHING NEW! The original is iconic and stands the test of time for a reason. There is no reason to throw actors in front of a greenscreen & CGI our way through a movie or show that was perfect just how it was. I will not budge on this take.
“I would like to know when you are going on a fun date?!”
Oh I don’t know mother maybe when someone asks me?????? Lady, you are about to get banned from the question box if this is how you are choosing to use it. I can take myself on fun dates because I know what I think is fun. Other people would just kill my vibe. I also simply do not have time for that so leave me alone.
“If sports were people, would F1 be a girl and would NASCAR be a boy?”
I love this question.
As a short answer: yes.
For a long answer: This is exactly how I would view them in terms of gender stereotypes. To me, NASCAR definitely fits a lot of the male stereotypes in terms of the simplicity, a bit rough, and it doesn’t over complicate things yet sometimes it can be purposefully obtuse. Whereas F1 fits the female stereotypes perfectly. High maintenance, loves spending money on clothes and travel, complicated, and can be difficult to understand at first.
(Again, this is just in terms of gender stereotypes but I think they fit perfectly in terms of explaining how I perceive the differences in the sports)
“Does Shedeur Sanders deserve more”
I mean re: my first answer. I think so. I mean why not give him the opportunity to prove himself. He literally can not be worse than who is currently stepping on the field for the Browns in QB right now. I think it would give the Browns fans something to be excited about and someone to rally around. There is nothing wrong with testing out a young QB and allowing him to develop in real time.
(Hopefully the joke landed)
“How fragile is Tottenham’s mental resilience”
I would say on a scale of 1-10 they are at a 6 on the fragility scale for the team itself. There seems to be a lack of being able to sustain momentum. They come out of the gate with so much energy and the talent and capability is there but as the game goes on it starts to falter. Though, there were glimmers in yesterdays game: we scored. Which I think was something I was worried they would start to get in their heads about. They just need to be able to put all of these pieces together. The fans' mental resilience though is the highest of any team in the Premier League right now for what we put ourselves through each week. We deserve some sort of honorary award or financial compensation.
“Favorite TV show series”
Of all time? Parks and Rec. I think that is a show I will never ever get sick of. I quote it all of the time and it is one of my ultimate comfort shows. I can not emphasize enough how much I adore that entire cast and I can not recommend it enough.
Honorable mention: Pretty Little Liars, Bobs Burgers, Glee, Hawaii Five O, & The Office.
“Favorite Superhero”
Amazing question. Now there is a more complicated answer. My initial response was Iron Man. But in terms of the Marvel movies and the superheroes that got their own movies: Captain America. His string of movies to me are absolutely elite and I adore rewatching them.
“Current best NFL QB and why”
The Russo/Puckett household asked me a bunch of questions that I think they felt would get me to just mention Josh Allen as much as I could in this blog. But to me, 2 weeks into the season - Josh Allen. The ability to read the field and make moves to extend ball play and get the team in position to succeed? No one is on his level right now.
“What is your favorite sports memory”
Ugh. Fantastic question. The one that comes to mind immediately is the Cavs winning the 2016 NBA Finals. My family watched most of that series at a bar in our resort in Mexico because my Aunt was getting married so they let us take over the TVs each night a game was on. We managed to make it home the day of game 7 and I watched that in the living room with my whole family. I remember the excitement and the energy just in my house. Also, the second the game ended my older brother left the house to try to get merchandise. The parade is a day I will never forget.
Honorable mention: The 2009 Alabama National Championship. I think that was the first time I remember actually loving watching football.
“Would you rather have your team win a Super Bowl, Finals, or World Series”
I want to preface this answer with obviously I want all of my teams to win these but I need to be strategic about this answer. Well, I have already seen my NBA team win a finals in this lifetime. I am currently floating around the NFL in terms of trying to find a home for my fandom but being with a team in a rebuild like I am right now to see them win a Super Bowl would be so satisfying. I think my final answer though would be World Series. I think for my family that one would mean the most but also for the city of Cleveland that would be amazing. This city adores that team and for this roster to win it would be the ultimate cherry on top.
But really I want my team to win the Premier League.
“Who is white boy of the year”
WHAT A WAY TO END THE BLOG!
While there is still time to decide I have been keeping a short list & it is comprised of the following (in no particular order)
Timothee Chalamet
Antonio Cipriano
Connor Wood
Role Model
Chase DeLauter
